Sorting by search intensity

چکیده

In this paper, I analyze a general equilibrium on-the-job search model with endogenous search intensity and heterogenous workers and firms. Wages are set through bargaining as in Cahuc, Postel-Vinay, and Robin (2006). I provide proof of existence and uniqueness of steady state equilibrium. Given equally efficient search on and off the job, I provide proof that the equilibrium firm productivity distribution is stochastically increasing (decreasing) in worker skill if the match production function is supermodular (submodular). By implication, if the production function is supermodular (submodular) high skill workers on average match with more (less) productive firms. I also show that this strong notion of sorting does not obtain everywhere for the reverse conditioning.

Closely Spaced Target Detection using Intensity Sorting-based Context Awareness

Detecting remote targets is important to active protection system (APS) or infrared search and track (IRST) applications. In normal situation, the well-known constant false alarm rate (CFAR) detector works properly. However, decoys in APS or closely spaced targets in IRST degrade the detection capability by increasing background noise level in the CFAR detector. This paper presents a context aw...

Solving ‎‎‎Multi-objective Optimal Control Problems of chemical ‎processes ‎using ‎Hybrid ‎Evolutionary ‎Algorithm

Evolutionary algorithms have been recognized to be suitable for extracting approximate solutions of multi-objective problems because of their capability to evolve a set of non-dominated solutions distributed along the Pareto frontier‎. ‎This paper applies an evolutionary optimization scheme‎, ‎inspired by Multi-objective Invasive Weed Optimization (MOIWO) and Non-dominated Sorting (NS) strategi...

Competing Matchmaking

We study how competing matchmakers use prices to sort participants into search markets, where they form random pairwise matches, and how equilibrium outcomes compare with monopoly in terms of prices, search market structure and sorting efficiency. The role of prices to facilitate sorting is compromised by the need to survive price competition. We show that the competitive outcome can be less ef...

بررسی مجموعه آزمون‌های عصب- روان‌شناختی در تشخیص رانندگان اتوبوس بین شهری متخلف و شایسته

AbstractObjectives: This study has been carried out with the aim of investigating motor, cognitive and executive functions of a group of accident-prone drivers. Method: Seventy professional accident-prone drivers with major faults and 30 drivers recognized as good and safe drivers, were examined using tests that assessed reaction time, recognition, memory, attention and concentration, as well a...

Classical-Sorting Embedded in Genetic Algorithms for Improved Permutation Search

A sorting algorithm defines a path in the search space of n! permutations based on the information provided by a comparison predicate. Our generic mutation operator for hybridization, blends a hill-climber and follows the path traced by any sorting algorithm. Our proposal adds search (exploitation) capability to the mutation operator. Mutation requests swaps to construct and test new permutatio...
